Pukyong National University Student Selected for Korea Research Foundation Research Incentive Grant Program
Physics PhD Student Kim Minjae in 2nd Year Receives Annual Research Funding of 20 Million Won
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Kim Min-jae, a second-year PhD student in the Department of Physics at Pukyong National University (advisor Professor Baek Seung-gi), has been selected as a recipient of the Korea Research Foundation's ‘2020 Support Project for the Next Generation in Science and Engineering Fields’ and will receive a research encouragement grant for his doctoral studies.
This program supports doctoral graduate students to lead and independently conduct creative and challenging research ideas related to their thesis work.
Kim submitted a research topic titled ‘Successful Strategies in the Evolution of Cooperation on Complex Networks’ and was highly evaluated for his ideas on how cooperation within groups becomes stable or unstable, as well as for his research plan, potential for development, and expected outcomes.
In addition, he has demonstrated excellent research capabilities, including publishing three SCI papers so far, receiving the Physics Society’s Outstanding Oral Presentation Award, and being selected for an internship program at the Japan Institute of Physical and Chemical Research.
With this project selection, Kim plans to conduct his research with an annual research fund of 20 million KRW for up to two years.
