Gangdong-gu Office Official Booked on Charges of Sexual Harassment Against Female Employee of Construction Company
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A public official affiliated with the Gangdong District Office in Seoul has been accused of sexually harassing a female employee of a construction company related to his work during a drinking party, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul announced on the 12th that they have booked and are investigating Mr. A, a public official of the Gangdong District Office, on charges of forcible sexual harassment.
Mr. A, who is in charge of the construction sector, is accused of harassing Ms. B, an employee of the construction company, at a karaoke room after having dinner with fellow public officials and two construction company employees in March.
Ms. B filed a complaint against Mr. A with the police, and it is known that the two had known each other from work-related matters in the past. Mr. A reportedly denied the allegations to the police.

A police official stated, "Only the two individuals were present at the location where the alleged crime took place, and there was no closed-circuit television (CCTV), so the investigation is being conducted based on their statements."
