Daejeon City to Recruit 404 Grade 8 and 9 Public Officials... Written Exam on the 13th
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Daejeon City announced on the 11th that it will conduct the "2020 Local Government Officials Level 8 and 9 Open (Career) Competitive Recruitment Written Examination" on the 13th at 16 test centers, including Namseon Middle School.
The exam attracted 7,407 applicants for 404 positions, recording an average competition rate of 18.3 to 1. The highest competition rate was in the driver category, with 231 applicants competing for 2 positions (115.5 to 1).
Examinees must enter their assigned test center by 9:20 a.m. on the exam day and bring one form of identification for verification?resident registration card, driver's license, valid passport, or disability registration card?along with their admission ticket. Additionally, examinees can only take the exam at their designated test center.
The written exam locations can be confirmed on the city’s website under the exam information section, and admission tickets can be printed from the Local Government Integrated Internet Application Center.
During the exam, possession of any communication or electronic devices such as mobile phones, smartwatches, and tablets is prohibited. Violations will be considered cheating. If an examinee leaves the room due to stomach issues or excessive water intake during the exam, re-entry is not allowed, so health management is important.
Successful candidates of the written exam will be announced on August 17 through the Local Government Integrated Internet Application Center.
Notably, starting this year, scores will be pre-disclosed before the official announcement of the written exam results. The pre-disclosure period is from August 11 to 12, during which examinees can check their raw scores and additional points recognized on the Local Government Integrated Internet Application Center.
Furthermore, the city will accept objections regarding the disclosed scores on August 12 and will announce the final re-verification results on August 14.
Written exam passers will undergo a personality test on August 22, followed by interviews from August 31 to September 3. After completing all stages of the examination process, the city plans to announce the final successful candidates on September 11.
Meanwhile, to prevent and contain COVID-19, the city will conduct disinfection of test centers before and after the exam and completely restrict entry of outsiders on exam day. Additionally, quarantine managers and other personnel will be assigned to each test center to ensure examinee safety.
Confirmed COVID-19 patients are not allowed to take the exam, and only those under self-quarantine who have pre-registered by the 12th of this month can take the exam. Among self-quarantined examinees, those residing in Daejeon will take the exam at home, while those living outside the city will take it at a separate test center at the Cheomsan-dong Youth Training Village.
