12 New COVID-19 Cases in Seoul in 8 Hours... Total 1,041 Confirmed (Update)
[Asia Economy Reporter Seongpil Cho] As of 6 p.m. on the 10th, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that the number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Seoul was counted at 1,041, an increase of 12 cases compared to 8 hours earlier.
Among the 12 newly identified patients, 8 were related to the Richway group infection (cumulative total 57), 1 was related to the Yangcheon-gu table tennis hall (cumulative total 34), 1 was related to the Coupang logistics center (cumulative total 23), 1 was from overseas contact (cumulative total 285), and 1 was categorized as others (cumulative total 300).
It was found that confirmed cases surged through 'Myeongseong Housing,' which was visited by Richway confirmed patients. One confirmed case related to 'Myeongseong Housing' was reported in each of Seongbuk-gu, Gwanak-gu, Dongjak-gu, and Gwangjin-gu.
Among the new confirmed cases, a man in his 60s living in Sadang 5-dong, Dongjak-gu (Dongjak case number 45) works at Myeongseong Housing. A 26-year-old woman living in Jungang-dong, Gwanak-gu (Gwanak case number 70) was confirmed positive on the 10th after contact on the 6th with a patient infected while working part-time at Myeongseong Housing (Gangwon Chuncheon case number 9).
Also, a 76-year-old woman living in Samseon-dong, Seongbuk-gu (Seongbuk case number 30) is presumed to have been infected through contact with an existing confirmed patient at Myeongseong Housing.
Excluding 'Myeongseong Housing,' three additional Richway-related confirmed cases occurred in Geumcheon-gu and Yangcheon-gu.
A man in his 70s, a cohabitant of an existing confirmed case related to the SJ Investment Company call center (Yangcheon case number 59), tested positive on the same day (Yangcheon case number 60).
A man in his 70s living in Sinjeong 1-dong, Yangcheon-gu, was also confirmed positive on the same day. He is the spouse of case number 59, a confirmed patient related to the SJ Investment Company in Magok-dong, Gangseo-gu. Confirmed cases from the SJ Investment Company are also classified as Richway-related cases.
In Geumcheon-gu, a 60-year-old man living in Doksan 4-dong (Geumcheon case number 20) tested positive on the same day. He is presumed to have been infected through contact with Geumcheon case number 19, a Richway-related confirmed patient.
The confirmed case related to the table tennis hall was reported in Yangcheon-gu. A man in his 20s living in Mok 2-dong is known to have had contact with Yangcheon case number 46, a confirmed patient related to the table tennis hall.

A confirmed case related to the Coupang logistics center occurred in Songpa-gu. The 20-year-old son of a woman in her 40s (Songpa case number 47), who was confirmed positive after working at the Market Kurly logistics center on the 27th of last month, tested positive again on the 9th before the end of quarantine and was registered as case number 52 in the district.
