KOSPI Opens Lower at 2187.91 Amid Selling by Individuals and Foreigners
[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] The KOSPI opened lower due to selling pressure from individuals and foreigners.
At 9:07 a.m. on the 10th, the KOSPI was at 2182.31, down 0.3% (6.61 points) from the previous session. The KOSPI started the day at 2187.91, down 0.05% (1.01 points) from the previous close. In the securities market, individuals and foreigners sold stocks worth 11.5 billion KRW and 13.5 billion KRW respectively. Institutions were the sole buyers, purchasing stocks worth 25.3 billion KRW.
By sector, the largest gains were seen in services (1.21%), textiles and apparel (1.31%), pharmaceuticals (0.67%), and telecommunications (0.41%). Among the top market capitalization stocks, Samsung Electronics traded down 0.9% at 55,000 KRW. SK Hynix (0.22%), Samsung Biologics (0.30%), Naver (1.89%), Celltrion (0.19%), LG Chem (0.35%), and Kakao (1.57%) were on the rise.
The KOSDAQ index at the same time was at 753.42, down 0.05% (0.40 points). The KOSDAQ started the day at 754.30, up 0.06% (0.48 points) from the previous close. In the KOSDAQ market, individuals were the sole buyers, purchasing stocks worth 25.9 billion KRW. Foreigners and institutions sold stocks worth 15.2 billion KRW and 8.9 billion KRW respectively.

By sector, the largest gains were in internet (1.65%), computer services (0.74%), distribution (0.69%), and software (0.55%). Among the top market capitalization stocks, Celltrion Healthcare (1.62%), Seegene (2.21%), KMH (1.16%), and Studio Dragon (0.84%) rose.
