Hankook Tire to Compete in '2020 CJ Super Race' with 12 Drivers from 6 Teams
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] Hankook Tire & Technology (hereinafter Hankook Tire) announced on the 10th that it will supply world-class racing tires to 12 drivers from 6 racing teams participating in the Super 6000 class of the largest domestic motorsports event, the ‘2020 CJ Logistics Superrace Championship (hereinafter CJ Superrace),’ which opens for two days from the 20th to the 21st at Yeongam Korea International Circuit (KIC).
Hankook Tire will provide racing tires, proven for quality and technology on the global motorsports stage, to a total of 12 drivers from 6 teams participating in the top Super 6000 class of CJ Superrace, including ‘AtlasBX Motorsports,’ ‘Team Hooks-AtlasBX,’ ‘Seohan GP,’ ‘Bulgas Motorsports,’ ‘CJ Logistics Racing,’ and ‘Roar Racing.’
Hankook Tire’s racing tires are used as official tires in about 40 motorsports competitions worldwide, including the German Touring Car Masters.
AtlasBX Motorsports, sponsored by Hankook Tire, is challenging to achieve the double championship in both team and driver categories for the fourth consecutive year. AtlasBX Motorsports is a strong team that won the overall championship in the Super 6000 class for three consecutive years from 2017 to 2019. In the 2019 season, they demonstrated overwhelming skills by sweeping the team championship title and the top three positions in the driver championship. This season, with a lineup of three drivers including CEO and driver Joo Hang-woo, driver Kim Jong-kyum, and newly recruited Choi Myung-gil, they plan to continue their winning streak.
Meanwhile, the CJ Superrace Super 6000 class is the only stock car race in Asia certified by the F?d?ration Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). Stock cars are specially manufactured race cars exclusively for racing, equipped with a 6200cc V8 engine producing a maximum output of 436 horsepower, and capable of reaching speeds exceeding 300 km/h, demonstrating powerful performance. Notably, this season features a redesign of the vehicle’s exterior for the first time in four years, offering freshness to fans.

The 2020 CJ Superrace will be held over a total of 8 rounds from June to November, traveling across three circuits including the opening round at Yeongam KIC starting June 20, Everland Speedway in Yongin, and Inje Speedium in Gangwon Province.
