7 Teams from Dongmyeong University Advance to 'Student Startup Promising Teams 300'

A startup team composed of Dongmyung University students has challenged the ‘Promising Startup Teams 300’ competition with their innovative ideas.
The Dongmyung University Social Customized Industry-Academia Cooperation Leading University (LINC+) Development Project Group announced on the 9th that seven teams passed the online document screening in the ‘2020 Student Promising Startup Teams 300 Startup Challenge Practical Startup Track’.
‘Student Promising Startup Teams 300’ is a competition hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and ICT to discover and nurture prepared entrepreneurial talents with an entrepreneurial spirit. It is a nationwide startup competition conducted by the National Research Foundation of Korea and the Korea Youth Entrepreneurship Foundation to promote a nationwide startup culture.
The seven participating teams are MUTO Team (Team Leader: Yeo Yu-rim, Department of Interior Architecture 1st year; Advisor: Lee Eun-jung, Department of Interior Architecture) with ‘Upcycling Interior Using Old Clothes,’ Mamssi Team (Team Leader: Ryu Won-kyung, Department of International Logistics 3rd year; Advisor: Ahn Tae-young, Department of International Logistics) with ‘Anywhere, Anytime, Penetrate and Breathe, Cheongbigo!,’ D.I.Company Team (Team Leader: Jo Hong-rae, Department of International Logistics 4th year; Advisor: Kim Young-soo, Department of International Logistics) with ‘NFC Security Chief,’ NTS Team (Team Leader: Son Sang-hyun, Department of Port Logistics Systems 3rd year; Advisor: Shin Seok-hyun, Department of Port Logistics) with ‘Travel Platform for the Transportation Vulnerable,’ Score Fit Team (Team Leader: Kwon Yong-jun, Department of Management Information Systems 4th year; Advisor: Seo Chang-gap, Department of Management Information Systems) with ‘Fitness Recording and Managing Application,’ VRCY Team (Team Leader: Song Young-hoon, Department of Electronic Engineering 4th year; Advisor: Park Jun-mo, Department of Electronic Medical Engineering) with ‘VR Bicycle Exercise Game,’ and Silverlight Team (Team Leader: Lee Ye-in, Department of Medical Engineering 4th year; Advisor: Park Jun-mo, Department of Electronic Medical Engineering) with ‘Innerwear GPS.’
These teams will participate in online basic competency enhancement training for two days from the 13th to the 14th, and then undergo presentation evaluations over three days from July 7th to 9th at the Busan Startup Cafe Songsanghyeon Square branch to be selected as one of the final 300 teams.
The 300 teams selected as promising startups will participate in the ‘2020 Promising Startup Teams Festival’ in August and receive certificates from the Minister of Education. Based on combined scores from on-site evaluations, participation sincerity in education, and presentation evaluations, 35 outstanding teams will be granted entry to the finals of ‘Challenge! K-Startup 2020.’
Dongmyung University LINC+ Project Director Shin Dong-seok said, “We will actively support the seven teams to advance to the finals of the Student Promising Startup Teams 300 and Challenge! K-Startup 2020, and create an atmosphere that spreads practical startup activities and startup culture among enrolled students.”

The Dongmyung University Startup Education Center conducted activities such as recruiting startup clubs, team leader meetings, student briefings, business plan writing, and patent application training to help students systematically prepare for the Student Promising Startup Teams 300, resulting in these teams achieving good outcomes.
