Fire at Edible Oil Storage Warehouse in Mungyeong, Gyeongbuk... 470 Million Won in Damages
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] At around 1 a.m. on the 9th, a fire broke out at an edible oil storage warehouse in Uigok-ri, Yeongsun-myeon, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do.
The fire burned a two-story prefabricated sandwich panel warehouse (570㎡), 4,300 cans of 18ℓ edible oil, and three 1-ton trucks parked nearby, causing property damage estimated at 470 million KRW (according to the fire department). The fire was completely extinguished after about three hours. Fortunately, there were no casualties.
The fire authorities issued a Level 1 response and deployed 25 fire trucks, firefighting equipment, and 111 firefighters, but faced great difficulty in controlling the flames fueled by the edible oil.
