Gyeongju City, 'Citizen's Day' Ceremony ... Commendation for Citizens Contributing to COVID-19 Overcoming
Gyeongju City Culture Award Winners Are Lee Sang-pil, Kim Kyu-ho, and Woo Chang-rok

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 8th, Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do held the '13th Citizens' Day' commemorative ceremony at the outdoor garden of Hwangryongwon, presenting awards to the Gyeongju City Culture Award recipients and citizens who contributed to overcoming the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
The ceremony was conducted strictly following COVID-19 social distancing guidelines, with all 150 participants wearing masks, undergoing temperature checks, and self-diagnosis before entering the venue.
There were three recipients of the Gyeongju City Culture Award. Lee Sang-pil (Gyeongju Hanggyo Jeongyo) received the Cultural Arts category award, Kim Gyu-ho (Professor at Gyeongju University) received the Education and Academic category award, and Woo Chang-rok (CEO of Law Firm Yulchon) received the Special Award.
The commendation recipients for contributions to overcoming COVID-19 totaled 25 people across the fields of medical and health care, volunteering, quarantine, education, foreigner support, socioeconomics, publicity, and external cooperation.
The Gampo-eup Development Council and Gampo-eup Village Chiefs' Council donated regional development mutual cooperation funds for the early opening of urban planning roads and received plaques of appreciation at this ceremony. Also, the Gyeongju Jaegyeong Hometown Association (President Baek Seung-gwan) and Park Tae-jun (Office for Government Policy Coordination) received plaques of appreciation for their cooperation in mask purchases and donation of sponsorship funds.
Meanwhile, the 13th Gyeongju Citizens' Day commemorative ceremony will be broadcast on the local cable channel Hello Vision (Channel 25) on the 8th at 5:50 PM and 11:00 PM as a recorded program.
