View original image[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] Regarding the discovery of Ms. A (60), the director of the Justice Memory Solidarity (Jeonguiyeokyeondae) comfort women victims' shelter, found dead, Rep. Kwak Sang-do of the United Future Party claimed that "someone else took responsibility instead of Yoon Mi-hyang." Nam In-soon, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party of Korea, criticized this as "highly inappropriate."
At the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly on the morning of the 8th, Supreme Council member Nam said, "I hope Rep. Kwak, who constantly engages in political strife, reflects on whether he has any respect for human beings," adding, "It is outrageous to say that someone else took responsibility for the deceased's tragic death (instead of Democratic Party Rep. Yoon Mi-hyang) and demand that the Democratic Party take responsibility."
Regarding the prosecution's claim that "the deceased was not investigated and no summons was issued" in connection with the incident, she pointed out, "Before making excuses, I hope they consider the feelings of the deceased who chose death in the face of the reality where human rights movements are being torn apart," and expressed regret toward the prosecution for conducting a search and seizure despite the voluntary submission of materials at the shelter.

Earlier on the 7th, Rep. Kwak reportedly urged in a phone interview with a media outlet, "It is regrettable to see someone else taking responsibility instead of Rep. Yoon," and called for "the Democratic Party to show responsibility."
Ms. A, who served as the director of the Justice Memory Solidarity comfort women victims' shelter 'Peace Our Home' located in Bukahyeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, was found dead around 10:30 p.m. on the 6th in an apartment in Paju City, Gyeonggi Province. At that time, Ms. B, a colleague from Justice Memory Solidarity, reported to the police and fire authorities that "I could not reach Ms. A." Police and fire authorities who arrived at the scene opened the entrance door and found Ms. A deceased in the bathroom.
