Damyang-gun Promotes 'Resident Participation Healthy Village Development Project'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 8th that it will select five villages this year (Damyang-eup Yeonhwachon, Geumwol Village, Goseo Deokchon Village, Yong-myeon Dujang Village, Subuk-myeon Wondaebang) to promote a resident-participation healthy village creation project.
The resident-participation healthy village project is being carried out to encourage residents to take ownership and work to improve health issues, aiming to enhance health levels and bring about overall changes in the local community.
Earlier, the county identified residents' health risk factors through basic health checkups and surveys last month, established strategies for health promotion and behavior improvement for each village, and is carrying out the project accordingly.
Based on the analysis results, customized health programs such as health education by area, oral care, smoking cessation clinics, nutrition, understanding personal vascular numbers, dementia screening, and cognitive rehabilitation training will also be supported to improve health issues.
Programs for healthy leisure activities and psychological stability, such as craft classes and horticulture classes, will also be operated as experiential programs.
