The Daegu Meteorological Office issued heatwave advisories at 11 a.m. on the 8th for Mungyeong, Cheongdo, Gyeongju, Pohang, Cheongsong, Andong, Goryeong, Yeongyang, and the northeastern mountainous areas of Gyeongbuk. Previously, along with the Daegu area, heatwave advisories had been issued for 10 cities and counties in Gyeongbuk, including Uiseong, Yecheon, Sangju, Gimcheon, Seongju, Chilgok, Gunwi, Gyeongsan, Yeongcheon, and Gumi.
The heatwave is expected to continue on the 9th, with daytime highs around 35 degrees Celsius in Daegu and Gyeongbuk, and around 33 degrees Celsius on the 10th.

A Daegu Meteorological Office official stated, "Most areas will experience daytime highs between 32 and 35 degrees Celsius, with apparent temperatures rising above 33 degrees, making it hot," and urged caution regarding health management and damage to agricultural and livestock products.
