Amorepacific Donates 5 Billion KRW Worth of 'Arittaun Goods'
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific Group (CEO Seokyung Bae) donated cosmetics and daily necessities worth 5 billion KRW to the Community Chest of Korea for the first half of this year’s ‘Arittaun Mulpum Nanum’ (Beautiful Goods Sharing).
Arittaun Mulpum Nanum, prepared to create a more beautiful world through coexistence with local communities, is an activity that supports goods to improve the welfare of residents and users of social welfare facilities.
Amorepacific Group, recognizing the increased interest in hygiene in local communities and welfare facilities due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), supported cosmetics and daily necessities worth 5 billion KRW, 2.5 times the amount of Arittaun Mulpum Nanum conducted in the first half of last year. A total of 13 brands, including Laneige, Happy Bath, Hanyul, Ryo, and Mise En Scene, participated in this goods sharing.
Arittaun Mulpum Nanum began in 2005 under the name ‘Sharing Love Goods,’ supporting 322 social welfare facilities. In 2009, it formed a partnership with the Community Chest of Korea and expanded its scale, annually supporting about 4 billion KRW worth of cosmetics and daily necessities to approximately 3,000 social welfare facilities nationwide, including those for women, the elderly, children, and the disabled. To date, it has donated goods worth 78.2 billion KRW to about 30,000 social welfare facilities nationwide.
Meanwhile, in February, Amorepacific Group donated cash and in-kind goods worth a total of 500 million KRW to medical staff in the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions through the Community Chest of Korea to participate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and recovering from damages. In April, it also delivered cosmetics that help soothe skin and thank-you support messages to medical staff in Daegu who suffered from skin troubles caused by prolonged mask-wearing.
