Gyeonggi Office of Education to Offer Conflict Counseling Including 'Workplace Harassment'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education is stepping up to support labor conflict counseling within schools to prevent workplace harassment in advance.
The labor conflict counseling is in accordance with the amended and enforced Labor Standards Act 'Prohibition and Measures against Workplace Harassment' as of July 2019.
To this end, the Gyeonggi Office of Education plans to appoint external counselors who are experts in internal organizational conflict management and support early response to conflicts that could escalate into workplace harassment.
When labor-related conflicts arise in schools and consultation is requested, the external counselors will assess the nature of the conflict and perform specialized roles such as advising and mediation support.
Additionally, they emphasize the roles and responsibilities of school administrators to prevent conflicts occurring within schools from escalating into workplace harassment, and provide on-site support through professional counseling.
