Summer Vacation? The 2030 Generation Choosing Jeju Island Over Overseas Travel
Jeju Shilla Hotel Sees 45% Increase in 20s-30s Guests Compared to January
Home Shopping Sells Jeju Travel Packages...Popularity Up
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] The demand among young people planning vacations is converging on Jeju Island.
According to the hotel industry on the 7th, Jeju Shilla Hotel's analysis of last month's guest types showed that the proportion of guests in their 20s and 30s increased by 45% compared to January. It is believed that the younger generation, who preferred overseas travel over domestic trips, is turning to Jeju Island due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
These days, the 20s and 30s generation is characterized by pursuing the latest trends while preferring unique and differentiated experiences, classified as the 'MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z)', emerging as a major consumer group.
In line with this trend, Jeju Shilla Hotel has launched an 'Early Summer' package targeting the tastes of the 20s and 30s generation who want to enjoy a special vacation. The 'Early Summer' package is available for a limited time throughout June for those who want to enjoy an early summer holiday. Notably, it features relaxed activities such as 'Floating Yoga' with limited participants and cocktails enjoyed at the 'Rooftop Bar'.
'Floating Yoga' involves maintaining balance on water, naturally stimulating the 'core muscles' and burning three times more calories than regular yoga. It has received positive reviews as a program perfectly suited to the tastes of today's young generation who regularly enjoy exercising. 'Floating Yoga' is held daily from 8 a.m. for 40 minutes at the 'Adult Pool'. This year, tea made from tangerine peel is served after the yoga class.
At the 'Poolside Rooftop Bar', which only allows a limited number of guests, cocktails are served. The 'Poolside Bar Rooftop' located at Jeju Shilla Hotel's outdoor swimming pool is designed with a yacht concept and offers a special space with an open view of the Jungmun Sea. Guests using the 'Early Summer' package can enjoy cocktails 'Sumbi Beach Green' and 'Sumbi Beach Red', developed by top domestic mixologist (cocktail mixing expert) Lim Jae-jin exclusively for Jeju Shilla Hotel.
Guests who use the 'Early Summer' package for two nights or more receive additional representative products of Jeju Shilla Hotel. With a two-night stay, guests can enjoy the 'Sunset Yacht Experience', which offers a coastal scenic view harmonized with a beautiful evening sunset. Around 5 p.m., under the guidance of a leisure entertainment expert (G.A.O.), guests move to Daepo Port, board a yacht, and enjoy the beach scenery and fishing while watching the sun set over the sea.

Despite being a late-night broadcast at 10:45 p.m., the total number of orders was about 5,200, with an order amount of approximately 2.4 billion KRW. This exceeded the initial target by more than 41%.
