4 COVID-19 Cases at Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Nonhyeon Branch in Yeoksam-dong
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Regarding the COVID-19 confirmed case at the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Nonhyeon Branch in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, with an additional positive case confirmed on the morning of the 5th from a resident of Eunpyeong-gu, the total number of confirmed cases at the branch has reached four.
Gangnam-gu conducted comprehensive testing on all 209 employees of the branch, including 49 employees who worked on the same floor as the first confirmed case that occurred on the 2nd, as well as employees working on other floors. Eight are awaiting test results, and the rest have all tested negative.
According to health authorities, COVID-19 is spreading rapidly in a chain through multi-use facilities and small gatherings, making it difficult for epidemiological investigations to keep pace.
Jung Soon-gyun, Mayor of Gangnam-gu, urged, "Residents are requested to refrain as much as possible from group meetings, religious events, and outdoor activities following the government's strengthened 'social distancing in daily life' measures through this week and next weekend."

Additionally, Gangnam-gu has pledged to do its best to block community infections by proactively conducting random sampling tests targeting those working in enclosed or densely populated facilities such as local taxi and village bus companies, call centers, insurance sales offices, and multi-level marketing companies within the district.
