United Future Party Lawmakers: "Anti-North Korea Leaflet Law is 'Kim Yo-jong's Command Law'... Unprecedented Act of Submission"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 5th, lawmakers from the United Future Party criticized, "The Republic of Korea was turned upside down by a single word from Kim Yo-jong, the First Deputy Director of the Workers' Party of Korea," and said, "Just over four hours after the 'directive from Kim Yo-jong' to make a law came out, the Ministry of Unification announced it would create a law banning the distribution of leaflets to North Korea, and the Blue House and the Ministry of National Defense are echoing North Korea by stating they will respond firmly to the leaflets."
United Future Party lawmakers Shin Won-sik, Cho Tae-yong, Ji Seong-ho, and Seo Jeong-sook held a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office that afternoon, stating, "We condemn the act of submission to North Korea by enacting the 'Kim Yo-jong directive law,'" and added, "The law banning leaflets to North Korea is an unprecedented act of submission that infringes on the freedom of expression guaranteed by our constitution."
They said, "We are so confused that we don't know whether we are in the Republic of Korea or North Korea," and criticized, "The Moon Jae-in administration, which considers leaflets sent by our citizens more dangerous than North Korea's missiles and bullets, raises the question of whom this government truly serves."
