Jung-gu's Large-Scale Promotion of 'COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines'

[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Seoyangho) conducted a large-scale campaign on the afternoon of the 3rd to promote the 'Prevention Guidelines for the Novel Coronavirus Infection (COVID-19)' throughout all 15 neighborhoods.
As cluster infections continued mainly in the metropolitan area, the campaign was launched across the entire district focusing on multi-use facilities and local alley markets to emphasize the importance of daily quarantine measures.
This promotion was supported by district employees as well as staff from the Jung-gu Facilities Management Corporation and the Jung-gu Sports Council. About 300 people participated in this campaign, which was conducted simultaneously on the same day in all 15 neighborhoods of Jung-gu, organized into 10 teams of two people each, with 20 people per neighborhood.
The participating staff visited local alley markets, explaining in detail the strengthened quarantine measures and the five key personal rules for social distancing in daily life, distributing informational leaflets.
They also visited multi-use facilities such as PC rooms and billiard halls, as well as commercial establishments like restaurants and cafes, promoting workplace prevention guidelines and providing additional instructions on disinfection methods and tips.
Mayor Seoyangho of Jung-gu also participated in the campaign in the Jungnim-dong area that day, promoting COVID-19 prevention guidelines. The mayor visited local alley markets in person, starting in front of Woori Bank in Jungnim-dong and moving along Jungnim-ro to Chungjeongno Station, emphasizing that compliance with quarantine rules is necessary for the recovery of daily life.
The mayor stated, "Until now, quarantine efforts aimed to block COVID-19 community transmission, but going forward, we must acknowledge that COVID-19 exists around us and strive to maintain our daily lives."

Additionally, along with the campaign to strengthen daily quarantine, the district is also promoting support measures for small business owners to revitalize the local economy. This includes promoting survival funds for self-employed small business owners. For local merchants who are not familiar with online applications or have not yet applied, the district is providing promotion and online application support every weekend, regardless of the 5-day rotation system, by visiting local alley markets. On Saturday the 6th, the campaign will focus on promoting survival funds around the Yaksu Market area and the Dasan-dong alley markets.
