Yeongdeungpo and Guro-gu Areas Designated as Four District Unit Planning Zones
[Asia Economy Reporter Donghyun Choi] Four areas in Yeongdeungpo-gu and Guro-gu, Seoul, have been designated as district unit planning zones.
On the 3rd, Seoul City held the 8th Urban Planning Committee meeting and conditionally approved the urban management plan (district unit planning zone) decision for four areas (totaling 81,765㎡), including 118-2 Gung-dong, Guro-gu, the city announced on the 4th.
The newly designated district unit planning zones are 108-1 Gung-dong, Guro-gu (9,185㎡), 625-31 Guro 2-dong (10,360㎡), 61-1 and 61-2 Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu (16,528㎡), and 893 Singil-dong (45,692㎡). Due to their location conditions, these areas are vacant land or low-density zones, requiring urban planning management even if future development conditions are met.

The city plans to establish district unit plans within the next three years, including development plan establishment guidelines and public contribution standards. A Seoul city official stated, "We plan to promote the district unit planning zones with public interest by collecting diverse opinions from landowners and local residents regarding the location characteristics, ensuring that regulations are not excessive."
