Arrest Warrant Issued for Kyung Hee University Professor Accused of Sexually Assaulting Graduate Student Mentee

On the 3rd, the Seoul Western District Prosecutors' Office filed an arrest warrant request on the 29th of last month for Professor A of Kyung Hee University on charges of quasi-rape, alleging that he sexually assaulted a graduate student who had lost consciousness after being made to drink alcohol in November of last year. Professor A's pre-arrest detention hearing was held that morning at the Seoul Western District Court. The decision on whether to detain him is expected to be made that day.

The victim, Mr. B, filed a complaint with the police against Professor A immediately after the incident in November last year, and the Mapo Police Station in Seoul forwarded the case to the prosecution in March with a recommendation for indictment without detention.
