Pulmuone is expanding its business scope from traditional fruit juices to vegetable juices, accelerating its position as a leading domestic cold-pressed juice company.
◆A New Horizon for Cold-Pressed Juice... The Second Leap= Pulmuone has set a sales growth target of over 10% compared to the previous year for its cold-pressed juice brand 'I'm Series' this year and established a strategy to strengthen its market position. A Pulmuone official stated on the 4th, "Recently, similar concept products have been actively launched, so we judged that it is necessary to strengthen the brand identity as a pioneering brand that opened the market," adding, "We will reinforce our product portfolio from fruits to vegetables to solidify our position in the cold-pressed juice market."
To strengthen its market dominance, Pulmuone has continuously launched new products across categories such as pure cold-pressed juice, fruit, fruit-vegetable blends, smoothies, and blended juices, expanding the I'm Real product line to 16 items. Last year, it introduced 'I'm Fruit,' a refrigerated fruit juice without additives like high-fructose corn syrup, sugar, or coloring agents, and recently launched 'I'm Green,' a vegetable juice, broadening the scope of the 'I'm Series' from fruit juices to vegetable juices.
Pulmuone pioneered the domestic cold-pressed juice market by launching I'm Real in 2007, a fresh fruit juice made by cold-pressing fresh fruit without adding a single drop of water. In May 2019, 12 years after its launch, I'm Real surpassed cumulative sales of 150 million bottles and holds about 70% market share in the domestic cold-pressed juice market (as of 2019).
I'm Real is credited with changing the paradigm of the domestic fresh fruit juice market. It is made from fruits that have passed Pulmuone's strict quality standards and rigorous inspection, processed by non-heated cold pressing to minimize nutrient loss. Moreover, I'm Real contains no additives such as water, flavoring agents, coloring agents, or sugar?only pure fruit?spreading the perception among consumers that it is a healthy cold-pressed juice.
The significance of I'm Real's launch lies in the fact that, unlike existing juice brands that produce juice by sterilizing imported concentrates or NFC (Not From Concentrate) raw materials, Pulmuone upgraded the product to a cold-pressed juice made by grinding fresh fruit as is. Conventional 100% reconstituted juice is made by boiling fruit juice to concentrate it, then adding water, high-fructose corn syrup, flavorings, etc., but Pulmuone's pure cold-pressed 100% juice is made by pressing fresh fruit without additives, preserving the original taste, aroma, and fresh pulp of the fruit. Even though both are 100% juices, there is a significant difference.
At the time of I'm Real's launch, Pulmuone manufactured dedicated fresh refrigerators and placed them in all sales stores. These refrigerators maintain a temperature of 0 to 5 degrees Celsius to prevent changes in the taste of fresh fruit juice, ensuring customers receive fresh products. This reflects Pulmuone's strict management of delivery and storage to preserve product freshness.
◆'I'm Fruit' Considerate of Farmers and Environment... 'I'm Green' Meets Health Needs= One of the I'm Series products introduced by Pulmuone last year is I'm Fruit. I'm Fruit is a refrigerated fruit juice without additives such as high-fructose corn syrup, sugar, or coloring agents, made by cold-pressing fruits directly cultivated in Korea, making it fresher and healthier. A key feature of I'm Fruit is that it uses fruits that are fresh but discarded for being misshapen, sourced through direct contracts with local farms, making it a juice considerate of both farmers and the environment. Thanks to this, Pulmuone explains that it reduces the burden on farmers and offers I'm Fruit to consumers at a reasonable price.
Following I'm Real and I'm Fruit, Pulmuone launched the vegetable juice I'm Green in April. This reflects Pulmuone's plan to expand its business scope from fruit juices to vegetable juices and lead market expansion as a domestic cold-pressed juice pioneer. The I'm Green product is also made using only raw materials that have passed strict microbial control standards by measuring hygiene conditions from the raw material stage. It primarily uses green vegetables such as broccoli, celery, asparagus, barley sprouts, and mint, blended with fresh fruits to allow consumers to enjoy vegetables they usually avoid in a delicious and convenient juice form. Additionally, I'm Green applies the 'Real Cold Press' method, a process that applies instantaneous high pressure at low temperatures without heating, preserving the nutritional components of the fruit and vegetable blend.
