Damyang-gun Conducts Free Rotavirus Vaccination
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 2nd that it will provide 'free rotavirus vaccination' for infants under 8 months old whose parents have resided in the jurisdiction for more than one year.
Rotavirus is a common cause of gastroenteritis in infants and young children, causing symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and fever upon infection. Vaccination can prevent gastroenteritis caused by rotavirus infection.
Parents of the eligible infants can visit the health center vaccination room or health branch office on weekdays from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM with the vaccination record book, ID card, and resident registration certificate to confirm eligibility and receive free vaccination after a medical examination by a doctor.
The county requested that after vaccination, recipients remain at the vaccination site for about 20 to 30 minutes to monitor for any acute adverse reactions before returning home.
Vaccination is not administered to those who have had severe allergic reactions to vaccine components or previous vaccinations, those with severe combined immunodeficiency, or those with a history of intussusception.
