Jeju Island announced on the 1st that it is receiving voluntary reports from residents and tourists who visited the Pacific Risom El Marino buffet restaurant, which was visited by 25 church pastor tourists from Anyang and Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province, from 5:30 PM to 7:06 PM on the 26th of last month.
Based on the statement that Mr. A, one of the tourists diagnosed with COVID-19, began showing symptoms on the 27th of last month, the province believes there is a possibility that Mr. A was infected before arriving on the island, prior to the 25th of last month.
In particular, since five people who shared a rental car with Mr. A during the trip were also diagnosed with COVID-19, it is judged that Mr. A may have spread the virus at the buffet restaurant and other locations.
Im Tae-bong, Director of the Health, Welfare and Women’s Affairs Bureau of Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, stated, "Jeju Island is disclosing detailed movement routes of confirmed cases as much as possible based on epidemiological investigation results," and added, "Residents and visitors who were at the same time and place are encouraged to voluntarily report to the nearest public health center, where free testing is provided."
