Hampyeong-gun Selected for Alley Economy Support Project Led by Ministry of the Interior and Safety
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Lee Sang-ik) announced on the 31st that the project "Hampyeongcheonji, Butterfly Flies" was finally selected in the Alley Economy Recovery Support contest hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.
The Alley Economy Recovery Support project is designed to help alley communities independently resolve issues within commercial districts such as consumption contraction due to economic recession and business closures or suspensions.
Previously, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety accepted applications for the Alley Economy Recovery Support project from local governments nationwide last month.
This year, considering the prolonged COVID-19 situation, 10 commercial districts nationwide were selected, and a total of 4 billion KRW will be supported, with 400 million KRW per location.
Hampyeong-gun applied for the central street alley commercial district, approximately 350 meters from the town's public terminal to the Nonghyup Hampyeong branch, and secured 400 million KRW in national funds this time.
Starting from the second half of this year, a total project budget of 1 billion KRW, including national funds, will be invested to newly create the exterior landscape of stores within the target area themed around the butterfly, the representative image of the region.
