Turkey Reports 1,182 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Surpasses 160,000
[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Kim] The number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in Turkey has surpassed 160,000.
On the 29th (local time), Turkish health authorities announced that the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Turkey increased by 1,182 from the previous day, reaching 160,979. The cumulative death toll rose by 30 to 4,461.
These results came from 33,559 COVID-19 tests conducted in one day. The total number of tests conducted is 1,928,209.

Meanwhile, Turkey resumed intercity train operations, which had been suspended since March, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, trains operate at half passenger capacity, and food and beverages are not provided inside the carriages.
