Yeonggwang-gun, Hyanghwado Port Reflected in the '2nd Marina Port Master Plan'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Junsung) announced on the 27th that Hyanghwado Port in Yeomsan-myeon has been finally included in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' 2nd Basic Plan for Marina Ports.
The Basic Plan for Marina Ports is a long-term plan spanning 10 years that outlines the mid- to long-term policy directions for marina ports in accordance with the "Marina Port Act."
With Hyanghwado Port included in the 2nd Basic Plan for Marina Ports (2020?2029), the county plans to form and operate an expert subcommittee of the Sea Dream Team to create a marina-centered hub space, while expanding opportunities for private investment to prepare for a full-scale leap in the marina industry.
Additionally, Hyanghwado Port will expand experiential classrooms linked with key marina ports in the province such as Mokpo and Yeosu, and further increase yacht competitions and festivals.
Marina port tourism products linked with island tourism will also be developed, and plans are in place to make it easier for residents to access marina ports.

We hope this will expand marine leisure tourism opportunities for residents and contribute to regional economic development and job creation.”
