According to the Daegu Metropolitan Office of Education on the 27th, a grade 3 student at Oseong High School in Suseong-gu was confirmed positive for COVID-19 late the previous night. This student had been notified to refrain from attending school through the NEIS self-diagnosis system on the second day of the grade 3 school reopening, the 21st, and was in voluntary quarantine for four days before returning to school on the 25th.
On the 25th, although the student's temperature was normal, they showed coughing symptoms. The homeroom teacher moved the student to a temporary observation room and contacted the parents to have the student tested. The health center's test results came out late on the night of the 26th.
According to the epidemiological investigation by health authorities, the student wore a mask continuously at school on the 25th except during meal times, and no close contacts were identified other than classmates.
However, it was revealed that after school, the student had contact with students attending other schools, raising concerns about additional infections.
