Nowon-gu, Recruiting 73 College Students for Summer Vacation Part-Time Jobs
Recruiting a total of 73 people from the 27th to the 5th of next month... Working at district offices, community centers, health centers, libraries, etc. from July 3 to 31
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (District Mayor Oh Seung-rok) is recruiting ‘university student part-time job participants’ to provide college students with an opportunity to gain social work experience during the summer vacation.
The university student part-time job program offers opportunities to gain administrative work experience by working at the district office, community service centers, health centers, libraries, welfare centers, and more. It is operated twice a year, in summer and winter.
The application period for this participation is from May 27 to June 5.
Eligibility requires applicants to be registered residents of Nowon-gu as of the application date and to be enrolled or on leave at a domestic (specialized) university. However, students from the Korea National Open University, cyber universities, vocational schools, and academic credit banks, as well as those who worked from the 2018 summer vacation to the 2020 winter vacation to provide broader participation opportunities, are excluded.
The number of recruits is 73, of which 22 are specially selected from vulnerable groups including recipients of basic national livelihood security, lower-income classes, legally low-income single-parent families, persons with disabilities (themselves), households with three or more children, and North Korean defectors. The remaining 51 are recruited through general selection.
The working period is 21 days from July 3 to 31, with 5 hours per day, 5 days a week. Working hours are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., but may change depending on the nature of the work and department conditions.
The daily wage is 50,950 KRW, including lunch expenses.
University students who wish to participate can apply online through the Nowon-gu district office website.
The selection will be conducted by a random computerized draw at 2 p.m. on June 8 at the district office’s Autonomous Safety Division. Applicants may arrive 20 minutes early to observe the process, and the results will be posted on the district office website at 3 p.m.
Selected students must finalize their participation registration between June 8 and 12 by submitting a resident registration abstract, enrollment or leave certificate, a copy of their ID, a copy of their bankbook, and any relevant documents for special selection either by visiting the Autonomous Safety Division at the district office or by fax (2116-4609). Those who do not register will be considered to have withdrawn, and replacements will be made according to the waiting list.
