[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany said on the 26th (local time) that U.S. President Donald Trump is displeased with China's attempt to enact the Hong Kong National Security Law.
According to the White House press corps, McEnany stated at the daily briefing that President Trump told her about his displeasure regarding China's enactment of the Hong Kong Security Law.
McEnany also conveyed that President Trump said it would be difficult to understand how Hong Kong could remain a financial hub if China takes control of Hong Kong.
McEnany, who has positioned herself as President Trump's 'bodyguard,' also came to his close defense on this day. She claimed that President Trump is taking seriously the 100,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. and "has done everything within his power." McEnany added, "He is listening to the science."
McEnany emphasized that the upcoming Group of Seven (G7) summit, to be held at the White House at the end of June, will serve as a good example for the resumption of economic activities, stating, "(We) will protect the attending leaders."
