Suncheon-si COVID-19 Joint Response Related Agencies Countermeasure Meeting Held
Related Organizations Continue to Declare Participation in Everyday Social Distancing
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City (Mayor Heo Seok) held a ‘Joint Countermeasure Meeting of Related Organizations’ on the 25th to establish a rapid response system among institutions in preparation for the occurrence of group infections ahead of the opening of schools at all levels, and conducted a social distancing campaign.
At the countermeasure meeting, heads of related organizations including Suncheon Office of Education, Suncheon Police Station, Suncheon Fire Station, 5th Battalion of the 7391st Unit, Suncheon Medical Center, Suncheon Medical Association, and Suncheon Pharmacists Association attended to discuss cooperation plans regarding the current status and plans for promoting daily quarantine, and also shared future inspection plans for vulnerable facilities such as coin karaoke rooms and PC rooms.
The attending heads of institutions discussed measures considering possible situations ahead of school openings, including checking the rapid response system between institutions, reporting systems in case of confirmed cases, transportation measures, and management of quarantine locations.
Lee Gil-hoon, Superintendent of Suncheon Office of Education, explained, “We have established a quarantine system through several principals’ meetings and cooperation meetings with related organizations such as Suncheon City to prepare for in-person classes,” and added, “To ensure thorough infection prevention, we have prepared a daily life guideline for students (see attached table) and will strictly guide infection prevention.”
Mayor Heo Seok of Suncheon said, “As local infections of COVID-19 continue to occur in the metropolitan area and other regions, it is expected that students and parents will have great concerns about the phased reopening of schools,” and added, “We will make every effort to protect students’ safety, studies, and daily lives by establishing thorough quarantine and a detailed crisis response system.”
