Gwangju Bank announced on the 26th that the "KIA Tigers Victory Wish Deposit and Savings," launched to coincide with the opening of the 2020 KBO professional baseball season, surpassed 10,000 accounts within two months of its release.
This product is released every professional baseball season to wish for the KIA Tigers' victory and to share the joy of cheering together with customers.
In the 2018 season, a total of 12,770 people (4,904 for deposits and 7,866 for savings) subscribed, with sales amounting to 129.6 billion KRW. Last year, 12,842 people (8,904 for deposits and 3,938 for savings) subscribed, with sales reaching 222.1 billion KRW, showing increasing popularity year after year.
KIA's captain, player Yang Hyeon-jong, also raised interest by subscribing to the deposit. The sales period this year is until July 31.
The deposit product allows one account per person with a minimum of 5 million KRW and a maximum of 50 million KRW. Depending on KIA's performance, various preferential interest rates are offered, providing up to an additional 0.5 percentage points, allowing for a maximum annual interest rate of 1.7%.
The preferential interest rate conditions add 0.1 percentage points if KIA produces a pitcher with 20 wins in the regular season, 0.2 percentage points for advancing to the postseason, and 0.2 percentage points for winning the Korean Series.

Savings accounts can be opened with monthly deposits ranging from 100,000 KRW to 1 million KRW, offering a basic interest rate of 1.3% per annum plus the same preferential interest rate conditions as the deposit (up to 0.5 percentage points). Additionally, an event preferential interest rate of up to 0.9 percentage points is provided to add fun to cheering, allowing for a maximum annual interest rate of 2.7%.
