Daegu City Supports Up to 90% of Air Pollution Control Facility Costs for Small Businesses
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Daegu City announced on the 26th that it will implement the 'Small-scale Business Facility Installation Support Project' as one of the measures to reduce fine dust and other air pollutants.
This project is a program funded by national subsidies since last year. It supports up to 90% of the costs when small and medium-sized enterprises replace outdated prevention facilities or install new ones. This year's project budget is 11.5 billion KRW, with 8.5 billion KRW planned to be spent in the first half of the year.
Last year's budget was 7.4 billion KRW. An analysis of air pollutant emissions before and after replacement at 14 business sites that completed facility replacement showed that dust decreased by 50-80%, and substances causing odors such as formaldehyde and ammonia decreased by about 60%.
The support targets are small and medium-sized enterprises under the Framework Act on Small and Medium Enterprises, located in Daegu City, and classified as air pollutant emission businesses of types 1 to 5. Facilities installed in public institutions and public facilities, those installed within the last 3 years, or those that received government (central or local) budget support within the last 5 years are excluded.
If selected as a support target, 90% of the installation cost within the set limit per facility will be subsidized (50% national funds, 40% city funds), and the remaining 10% will be borne by the business operator. Detailed information can be found on the websites of Daegu City, district and county offices, and the Daegu Green Environment Support Center. The application deadline is June 5.
