Mokpo Maritime University Holds Entrance Ceremony for Marine and Fisheries Executive Program
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Seo Young-seo] Mokpo National Maritime University announced on the 26th that it held the entrance ceremony for the 1st Marine and Fisheries Executive MBA program of the 2020 academic year on the 22nd at the training ship Segyero's international conference room and the university headquarters 5th floor executive lecture room.
The entrance ceremony, attended by 30 executives and officers from the marine and fisheries sector in the Jeonnam region who enrolled in the 1st Executive MBA program, was held on the training ship Segyero with the participation of key local institution guests including President Park Seong-hyun, Kim Gwi-dong, president of the Mokpo National Maritime University Alumni Association, Wi Gwang-hwan, director of the Marine and Fisheries Bureau, Kim Gyu-woong, director of Mokpo City Economic and Industrial Bureau, Kim Hyu-hwan, chairman of Mokpo City Council, Jang Gwi-pyo, director of Mokpo Regional Maritime and Fisheries Office, and Myung Ho-kyung, director of the Fishing Vessel Safety Operation Bureau. The ceremony was hosted by Kim Myung-jae, dean of the Graduate School of Marine Industry.
As the second part of the event, a welcoming banquet was held in the lobby on the 5th floor of the university main building to facilitate networking.
In his welcoming speech, President Park Seong-hyun said, "It is very meaningful and precious to open the Executive MBA program in the year marking the 70th anniversary of the university's founding," and added, "We will continue to strive for the development of the marine and fisheries sector."
Kim Myung-jae, dean of the Graduate School of Marine Industry and organizer of this program, stated, "We will do our best to differentiate this Executive MBA program from those of other universities by delivering knowledge to industry workers in the Jeonnam region specialized in marine and fisheries, responding to rapidly changing external environments, forming diverse networks, and promoting high-quality programs."

Meanwhile, the Executive MBA program is structured over one year, divided into two semesters, and will be conducted as practical-oriented classes including corporate management, liberal arts, and training programs led by invited lecturers who are experts in marine and fisheries.
