Songpa-gu 'Da(Ga)chi Orchestra' Founded
Recruitment of Members via Visits and Email Until the 26th... Park Seong-su, Songpa District Mayor, "Enjoying Culture in Daily Life Through Music"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Songpa-gu (Mayor Park Seong-su) is launching the "Da(gachi) Orchestra."
The Da(gachi) Orchestra is an amateur orchestra planned to bring music closer to local residents and allow them to enjoy culture in their daily lives. Through this, it provides opportunities for local residents to receive education and various stages to showcase their skills.
The Da(gachi) Orchestra is expected to consist of a total of 24 members: 8 violinists, 2 cellists, 10 classical guitarists, and 4 flutists.
To this end, Songpa-gu is recruiting members until the 26th.
Anyone who is part of a music club or an individual active in Songpa-gu can apply to be a member of the Da(gachi) Orchestra.
However, applicants must △ have the instrument they will perform with △ attend weekly regular practice sessions (flute on Tuesday mornings, strings on Wednesday mornings, classical guitar on Thursday mornings) △ attend full rehearsals (scheduled for Saturday afternoons) △ and participate in various performance events.
Applications can be submitted in person (Songpa-gu Office, 6th floor, Culture and Sports Department) or by email (hahj@songpa.go.kr). Applicants must submit an application form, introduction letter, and consent form for the collection and use of personal information by the 26th.
Songpa-gu plans to conduct practical and interview evaluations only for those who pass the document screening. The practical and interview evaluations will be held on the same day. During the practical test, applicants must perform one free-choice piece.
The final selected members of the Da(gachi) Orchestra will be announced after June on the Songpa-gu Office website or individually by phone.
The activity period is until December of this year. Members will have opportunities for instrument education, as well as participate in exchange performances with other cities and districts, and events related to citizen orchestras (such as network parties).
