First Zero New COVID-19 Cases Recorded in China Since the Outbreak
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] For the first time since the outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in China, the number of new confirmed cases recorded zero. The number of asymptomatic infections, which are not included in the official statistics, was counted as 28.
On the 23rd, the National Health Commission of China reported that there were no new confirmed COVID-19 cases or deaths in mainland China the previous day. Until now, although no new confirmed cases had been reported within China, the total number of confirmed cases never reached zero due to imported cases from overseas.
Notably, the 22nd was the day the National People's Congress (NPC) was held, drawing attention. Li Keqiang, Premier of China, stated at the NPC that decisive achievements had been made regarding the COVID-19 situation.
With no additional new confirmed cases in China, the cumulative number of confirmed cases remained at 82,971. The total number of deaths was 4,634, and the number of recovered patients was 78,258. Currently, 79 patients are receiving treatment.
