On the 22nd (local time) at noon, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 2,311 from the previous day to 131,652. The death toll rose by 51 to 7,300. The number of recovered patients is 12,276, with a recovery rate of 77.7%.
In Iran, the holiday celebrating the end of Ramadan (Eid al-Fitr) continues until the 25th, starting from the afternoon of the 21st, which is the weekend. Due to the government’s travel ban policy, many people were unable to travel or return home during the New Year holiday at the end of March, so it is expected that travel volume will increase during this holiday period.
