Lee Jae-myung Starts 'Yeongnam Tour'? Attends 11th Memorial Ceremony for Former President Roh Moo-hyun's Death
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, will attend the 11th anniversary memorial service for former President Roh Moo-hyun held on the 23rd. Lee also attended the memorial service last year.
A close aide to Lee said, "Governor Lee Jae-myung will attend the memorial service for former President Roh held in Bongha Village, Gimhae City, Gyeongnam," adding, "Since he headed to Busan on the 22nd to attend the event, it is expected that he will carry out various schedules in the region."
After arriving in Busan on the day, Lee held a meeting with Busan city council members from the Democratic Party at a cafe in Yangjeong-dong, Busanjin-gu, around 5 p.m.
It is known that the meeting was attended by the Democratic Party executive members within the Busan City Council and chairpersons of each standing committee. They reportedly did not inform the council secretariat or fellow council members about the meeting with Governor Lee in advance.
The meeting was reportedly facilitated by Lee Jae-gang, a former Democratic Party regional committee chairman for Busan Seo and Dong districts who recently took office as the Peace Vice Governor of Gyeonggi Province.
During the meeting, Governor Lee reportedly discussed local government policy exchanges, including Gyeonggi Province's disaster basic income and COVID-19 response.
