Muju-gun Adds Prestige to Public Architecture!
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Go Dallyeong] Muju County has decided to create high-quality public architecture that considers the local environment, landscape, and residents' convenience.
On the 22nd, the county held a meeting in the large conference room of the county office, attended by about 30 people including Muju County Governor Hwang Inhong, local architectural offices, design firms for the 2020 facility support projects, construction companies, and related officials.
The attendees listened to a lecture titled "Muju-style Public Architecture (Creating a City with Quality Public Architecture)" by Professor Do Hyunhak from the Department of Architecture at Yeungnam University. They shared information regarding the establishment of Muju County's basic landscape plan (including architectural landscape design guidelines) and had a time of mutual communication. Additionally, safety management education based on a large fire incident in Icheon, Gyeonggi Province, was conducted, drawing significant interest.
Governor Hwang Inhong stated, "Preserving the texture of Muju, the land where fireflies live and breathe, is the way to enhance Muju's brand value." He added, "I hope this occasion will be an opportunity to promote the capabilities of experts to establish a framework for Muju-style, high-quality public architecture."
Architect Shin Daeseop said, "Thinking that we are not simply constructing a building but completing a Muju-style Muju gives me a renewed mindset." He continued, "With the idea of marking a milestone in Muju public architecture, we will create beautiful and practical buildings."
According to Muju County, the facility support projects planned for this year include 33 projects such as ▲ Muju Family Center construction ▲ Dangsan and Juksan public parking lot development ▲ Village joint collection site establishment ▲ Eastern region forest product logistics terminal construction ▲ County nursing hospital construction ▲ Operation of scientific farming demonstration fields ▲ Renovation of the Arts and Sports Culture Center, with a total investment of about 41.4 billion KRW.
