Daegu City Bus Industry Donates 160 Million Won in COVID-19 Relief Fund
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] On the 22nd, Daegu City held a donation ceremony to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) at City Hall, attended by Mayor Kwon Young-jin, Choi Gyun, Chairman of the Daegu City Bus Transportation Business Association, and Jung Byung-hwa, Chairman of the Bus Union.
Twenty-six city bus companies voluntarily collected 100 million won, and city bus drivers collected 60 million won, which were donated to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea. The donation will be fully used to support low-income residents in the region.
Mayor Kwon Young-jin expressed gratitude, saying, "I thank the city bus company officials and drivers who participated in the donation for the local community," and added, "In these difficult and challenging times, the warm kindness sent from all walks of life is a great driving force to overcome COVID-19."

Meanwhile, the Daegu City Bus Transportation Business Association, as part of sharing the pain of the local community suffering from COVID-19, decided to bear part of the transportation costs (1.47 billion won) through self-help efforts by each bus company, separate from this donation.
