Southern Power, Post-Corona Measures Forum... "Proactive Response to Environmental Changes"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Korea Southern Power Co. has come together to proactively respond to environmental changes following the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
The company plans to focus on minimizing damage to the power generation industry ecosystem, revitalizing the economy, creating a non-face-to-face work environment, and generating social value to aid economic recovery.
On the 21st, Korea Southern Power held a "Post-COVID-19 Grand Forum" online and announced the identification and implementation of 36 tasks across four major areas.
While promoting comprehensive COVID-19 countermeasures, Korea Southern Power organized the forum to address post-COVID environmental changes such as deglobalization trends, economic recession, and the expansion of non-face-to-face digital infrastructure.
At the forum, they reviewed the progress of comprehensive countermeasures and discussed ways to restore the industrial ecosystem, internalize COVID-19 experiences, and enhance competitiveness in the changing environment. Various ideas generated through preliminary meetings of working-level staff were debated by all company branch managers and headquarters executives.
Through this deliberation process, 36 tasks were derived in four key areas: ▲transition to untact-based work ▲restoration of industrial ecosystem damage ▲economic revitalization ▲improvement of internal efficiency reflecting COVID-19 experiences.
Accordingly, Korea Southern Power plans to shift its facility operation system to a non-face-to-face basis and support small and medium-sized enterprises facing liquidity crises due to COVID-19 through a win-win agreement guarantee support project.
They will contribute to economic revitalization by focusing on public procurement, supporting the local economy, and discovering proactive administrative tasks, while also reviewing internal management systems through efforts to respond to sharp declines in power generation and initiatives like the Digital New Deal.
Additionally, post-COVID-19 related tasks and goals will be incorporated into management strategies, and progress will be regularly monitored through the Post-COVID-19 Committee.
