[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Guro-gu (Mayor Lee Seong) is conducting a public contest for smart city ideas from residents.
Guro-gu announced on the 22nd that it is promoting a smart city project to create a "better city using advanced technology" and is holding the "Smart City Guro Idea Contest" to provide residents with an opportunity to actively participate in smart policies.
The contest categories are ▲ Welfare, Health, and Safety ▲ Education and Multiculturalism ▲ Administration, Environment, and Energy ▲ Economy and Transportation. Participants are asked to propose solutions using information and communication technologies such as the Internet of Things to address local issues in each category.
Anyone who is a resident of Guro-gu, a worker or university student in the area, or a member of an organization related to Guro-gu can participate in this contest.
Applications can be submitted by visiting the Smart City Division at the district office, via email (bangdoni@guro.go.kr), or by mail until June 12. For more details, please refer to the district office website.
Guro-gu plans to announce the selection results next month after reviewing the submitted ideas by the relevant departments and the judging committee.
The selected ideas will be reflected in policies, and prize money will be awarded to the proposers. The grand prize is 1,000,000 KRW, two excellence awards of 500,000 KRW each, three merit awards of 300,000 KRW each, and six encouragement awards with gift certificates worth 100,000 KRW each.
