Bodyfriend Wins 'National Brand Award' in Massage Chair Category
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Bodyfriend (CEO Park Sang-hyun) announced on the 22nd that it ranked first in the massage chair category at the '2020 National Brand Awards.' Now in its 11th year, the National Brand Awards recognize the best brands representing South Korea as national assets. Based on preliminary research, consumer surveys, and final expert evaluations, the National Brand Competitiveness Index (NCI) is calculated to award the top brands in various sectors representing domestic industries, cities, agricultural and food products, and culture.
Bodyfriend explained that it was selected as the grand prize winner in the massage chair category for 2020 by overwhelmingly surpassing other brands. It received recognition for elevating healthcare technology and design competitiveness through its three major research and development (R&D) organizations: the Technology Research Institute, the Design Research Institute, and the Medical R&D Center.
As the first in the industry, Bodyfriend established a Medical R&D Center staffed with specialists and biomedical engineers from various fields including orthopedics, neurology, internal medicine, psychiatry, dentistry, and Korean rehabilitation medicine. This center is driving the 'Healthspan Extension Project,' which aims to extend healthy life expectancy by managing lifestyle before illness occurs, a key factor in this award.
