Busan City to Open Intangible Cultural Heritage Transmission Experience Classes from the 23rd

Although the names are unfamiliar, they are the nation's prestigious titles for masters of intangible cultural heritage. An experience class to learn from the hands of these masters is opening.
Busan City announced on the 21st that it will operate the '2020 Traditional Culture Experience Class with Masters of Intangible Cultural Heritage Functional Fields' from the 23rd to November 28th at the Busan Traditional Arts Center.
The experience class was prepared to promote the transmission and preservation of intangible cultural heritage and the excellence of our traditional culture to citizens and foreigners. Participants will receive direct instruction from masters of intangible cultural heritage functional fields while engaging in the experience programs.
At the experience class, participants will meet four masters in person: National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 80 Choi Yuhyun, Jasujang; Busan Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 17 Ahn Haepyo, Hwahaejang; Busan Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 21 Bae Musam, Jiyeonjang; and Busan Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 24 Ahn Junghwan, Jeongakjang.
The Jasujang, who teaches the history and types of traditional embroidery, offers the program 'Learning Traditional Daily Embroidery,' while the Hwahaejang, who creates stylish traditional shoes, presents 'Make and Wear My Shoes.'
The Jiyeonjang, who makes traditional kites passed down in the Dongnae area, offers the 'Traditional Kite Experience Class,' and the Jeongakjang, who engraves beautiful letters on solid objects, provides valuable programs such as 'Making Our House Nameplate.'
Participants will have the opportunity to learn traditional crafts and keep their own works. The participation fee is free, and those interested in the experience programs can easily find guidance by clicking on the Busan Traditional Arts Center website.

The Busan Traditional Arts Center serves as a functional field transmission education center, carrying on the tradition of regional traditional arts through the work activities, exhibitions, and transmission education of intangible cultural heritage holders. It opened in April 2019.
