'Dementia Neighbors Like One Family'... Pohang City Designates Yanghak-dong as 'Dementia Care Village'
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do, announced on the 21st that the Buk-gu Dementia Safety Center designated Yanghak-dong Senior Citizens' Center as a Dementia-Friendly Village and held a briefing session for local residents on the 20th.
In Yanghak-dong, selected as a Dementia-Friendly Village this year, five key projects will be carried out: local resident participation, dementia prevention reinforcement, local residents' understanding of dementia, cognitive health environment improvement, and support for dementia patients and their families.
The Dementia-Friendly Village project is a resident participation initiative aimed at creating a community where dementia patients and those with cognitive decline can maintain their daily lives in their own neighborhoods with the care and attention of family and neighbors.
