Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Selected for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Living-Closely Smart Technology Support Project'
Improvement of Living Conditions in Goryeoin Village... Total Project Cost of 1 Billion Won to Begin in Full Scale from Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (District Mayor Kim Samho) announced on the 20th that it was finally selected for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport's 'Living Proximity Smart Technology Support Project' with the 'Eoullim Platform Construction Project,' which aims to improve residential conditions in the Goryeoin Village of Wolgok-dong.
As a result, Gwangsan-gu secured 750 million KRW in national and city funds.
This project adds smart technology infrastructure to the existing Urban Regeneration New Deal project, focusing on making residents' daily lives more convenient.
The district plans to begin the full-scale project from next month with a total budget of 1 billion KRW, including the secured national and city funds.
Before the project application, the district formed a 'Smart Urban Regeneration Council' consisting of various stakeholders, including residents of Wolgok-dong, the Urban Regeneration New Deal project area, and experts.
The council held regular meetings to collect residents' opinions, discover projects, and strengthen implementation capabilities, raising the need to resolve communication issues between original and new residents of Goryeoin Village, as well as problems related to security, parking, and job seeking.
Furthermore, they proposed solutions using smart technologies such as ▲ICT-based Eoullim services ▲AI-based job matching services ▲multilingual support services introducing global food ▲ICT-based safety care services ▲and multilingual parking services at residents' fingertips.
