Pohang City, Daedodong Citizen Bowling Alley Remodeling Nears Completion

View original image[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] Pohang City, Gyeongsangbuk-do announced on the 19th that it will complete the full renovation of the aging Nam-gu Daedodong Citizen Bowling Alley by the end of July.
Pohang City has been carrying out comprehensive interior and exterior renovation work since January, investing 1.5 billion KRW, after a detailed safety inspection of the citizen bowling alley built in 1992 revealed safety issues.
The truss structure of the bowling alley roof is being reinforced for seismic resistance to upgrade the facility's safety rating, and waterproofing of the roof due to internal leaks, as well as replacement of aging ceiling materials, wall finishes, flooring, and lighting are underway.

Mayor Lee Kang-deok, during a site visit on the 19th, stated, "Once the construction is completed, we plan to open the citizen bowling alley equipped with the highest safety standards and facilities to the public," adding, "We will maintain and manage it as a top-class bowling alley to enable the successful hosting of the 2022 Provincial Sports Festival and attract high-level bowling tournaments to our region."
