Daegu Citizens and Medical Staff Receive 'Special Family Award' at World Couples Day Ceremony
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The citizens of Daegu and the medical staff of Daegu City (Daegu Medical Association, Daegu Nurses Association) received the Special Family Award of the Year at the '2020 World Couples Day National Commemoration Event' co-hosted by the World Couples Day Committee and the Office of National Assembly Vice Speaker Lee Ju-young on the 18th.
Couples Day, symbolizing two (2) becoming one (1), was designated as a legal commemorative day in 2007 and marked its 26th anniversary this year. Commemorative events are held annually on May 21.
The World Couples Day Committee stated, "All members including Daegu citizens and medical staff demonstrated advanced civic consciousness, united with one heart and mind to overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), creating a miracle that received praise worldwide despite difficult circumstances," explaining the reason for the selection.
