AhnLab Warns of Cryptocurrency Wallet Address Replacement Malware Risk
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] AhnLab has discovered malware that secretly changes users' cryptocurrency wallet addresses to steal funds and has urged users to be cautious.
According to AhnLab on the 19th, attackers first distribute the malware using an 'exploit kit' on some websites with weak security. If users access these websites without applying the latest security patches to their operating system (OS) or web browser, the malware is installed.
This malware monitors the user's PC and, when copying and pasting cryptocurrency wallet addresses such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Zcash, and Bitcoin Cash, replaces the original wallet address with the attacker's cryptocurrency wallet address.
If cryptocurrency is sent in this state, it goes into the attacker's wallet.
