Changwon City Implements Support for Replacing Residential Low-NOx Boilers … 200,000 KRW Support Per Unit
Limited to 712 units, first-come, first-served registration from the 25th
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kang Sharon] Changwon City announced on the 19th that it will promote the '2nd Project for Supporting the Installation of Low-NOx Boilers for Household Use' starting from the 25th.
The scale of this project is more than three times larger than the 1st project conducted in February, and it is expected to provide more benefits to households that have installed or plan to install boilers this year.
The support targets are households in Changwon City that install or replace low-NOx boilers for household use, and the support amount is 200,000 KRW for general households and 500,000 KRW for low-income groups (basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty groups).
Those who wish to apply for support for installing low-NOx boilers can apply to the Environmental Policy Division of Changwon City Hall starting from the 25th. For more details, check the announcement on the Changwon City website from the 20th or contact the fine dust 담당 of the Environmental Policy Division.
Low-NOx boilers are eco-friendly boilers certified by the Korea Environmental Industry & Technology Institute's environmental label. They absorb and recycle the high-temperature heat emitted from exhaust gases, making their energy efficiency about 10% higher than general boilers, and reduce the emission of nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are air pollutants.

Lee Chunsu, head of the Environmental Policy Division, said, "Installing low-NOx boilers not only reduces air pollutant emissions but also improves energy efficiency, leading to fuel savings. We hope households with general boilers installed actively utilize the city's support project to replace them with low-NOx boilers and participate in creating a pleasant air quality."
