[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] Seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19 have been reported in China.
On the 18th, the National Health Commission of China (NHC) announced that as of midnight, seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported. Four of them were imported cases infected overseas who entered China. The remaining three cases were from Jilin Province (2 cases) and Shanghai, where cluster infections have occurred.
The Jilin provincial government, where cluster infections are continuing, raised the COVID-19 risk level of Shulan City and Fengman District from medium risk to high risk the day before.
The cumulative number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in China reached 82,954. The cumulative number of deaths and recoveries are 4,634 and 78,238 respectively, and currently 82 patients are undergoing treatment.
There were 18 new asymptomatic infections reported on the 17th, bringing the total number of asymptomatic infections under medical observation to 448. Asymptomatic infections refer to individuals who test positive for COVID-19 but do not exhibit specific symptoms such as fever, cough, or sore throat.

The cumulative confirmed cases in the Chinese-speaking regions outside mainland China are 1,540 in total, including Hong Kong (1,055), Macao (45), and Taiwan (440).
